Thank You, Jan: Celebrating 21 Years of Service to Denver Broncos Alumni Charities
For more than two decades, one person has been the steady presence behind countless events, programs, alumni gatherings, charitable initiatives, and community partnerships that have helped shape Denver Broncos Alumni Charities.
After 21 years of dedicated service, Jan Dowker has begun a new chapter, leaving behind a legacy that will not soon be forgotten.
Celebrating a Remarkable Journey
To honor Jan’s remarkable contributions, Denver Broncos Alumni Charities gathered messages from 33 Broncos Alumni during the 2026 Golf Tournament & Gala weekend. Their words, memories, laughter, and heartfelt appreciation have been compiled into the tribute video below.
Throughout the weekend, one question seemed to come up again and again:
“Where’s Jan?”
For many alumni, it was the first time attending a DBAC event without seeing the familiar face who had helped coordinate, organize, problem-solve, encourage, support, and champion the organization for more than two decades.
Over the years, Jan wore more hats than anyone could count. Whether managing events, supporting alumni, coordinating sponsors, handling logistics, solving last-minute challenges, answering late-night phone calls, or simply making people feel welcomed and valued, she became the person everyone knew they could count on.
Many of the alumni described her as the “glue” that held everything together.
Others spoke about her unwavering dedication, her willingness to help whenever needed, and the countless sacrifices she made behind the scenes to ensure the organization’s success and its mission.
Several alumni shared a common sentiment:
“We don’t know what we’re going to do without you.”
From Hall of Famers and Ring of Fame members to alumni from every era of Broncos football, the message was clear: Jan’s impact reached far beyond event planning and administration. She built relationships. She created connections. She helped foster the sense of family that continues to define the Denver Broncos Alumni community.
DBAC President Le-Lo Lang perhaps summed it up best when he told Jan, “You don’t work for us—you are one of us.” Throughout the tribute video, alumni repeatedly spoke about Jan’s unwavering support, dedication, friendship, and willingness to do whatever was necessary to help the organization succeed. Steve Atwater reflected on the countless hours, sacrifices, and behind-the-scenes work she contributed over the years, while many others described her as the glue that held everything together.
The alumni’s messages were filled with gratitude, admiration, humor, and love. They celebrated not only what Jan accomplished, but who she is as a person.
While we are saddened to see her move on, we are equally excited for the opportunities that lie ahead for her. The same passion, work ethic, leadership, and heart that helped make Denver Broncos Alumni Charities successful for 21 years will undoubtedly serve her well in her next chapter.
Jan, thank you for your dedication, leadership, friendship, and countless contributions to Denver Broncos Alumni Charities.
You have left an indelible mark on this organization, on the alumni who call it home, and on the many lives touched through its charitable mission.
On behalf of the Denver Broncos Alumni, volunteers, sponsors, supporters, and community partners:
Thank you.
You will always be part of the Denver Broncos Alumni family, and you will be deeply missed.
We wish you nothing but success, happiness, and fulfillment in the journey ahead.
