Denver Broncos Hall of Famers

The Denver Broncos are one of the most successful franchises in the National Football League (NFL), having won three Super Bowl championships and consistently fielding competitive teams throughout their history. Along the way, the Broncos have produced a number of players who have earned induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, cementing their place in football history.

As of today, the Denver Broncos have eight players who have been enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Let’s take a closer look at each of these legendary players and their contributions to the Broncos’ success.

Floyd Little: Inducted in 2010, Floyd Little was one of the first great players in Broncos history. He played for the team from 1967 to 1975, rushing for 6,323 yards and 43 touchdowns over his career. Little was known for his electrifying running style and his ability to make big plays on the field.

Shannon Sharpe: A dynamic tight end who played for the Broncos from 1990 to 1999 and again from 2002 to 2003, Shannon Sharpe was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011. Over his career, Sharpe caught 815 passes for 10,060 yards and 62 touchdowns. He was a key part of the Broncos’ Super Bowl-winning teams in 1997 and 1998.

Gary Zimmerman: An offensive tackle who played for the Broncos from 1993 to 1997, Gary Zimmerman was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2008. He was a seven-time Pro Bowler and a three-time All-Pro selection during his career, and he helped anchor the Broncos’ dominant offensive line during their Super Bowl-winning seasons.

Terrell Davis: One of the greatest running backs in NFL history, Terrell Davis played for the Broncos from 1995 to 2001. He rushed for 7,607 yards and 60 touchdowns over his career, earning three Pro Bowl selections and two All-Pro nods. Davis was the MVP of Super Bowl XXXII, when he rushed for 157 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Broncos to victory over the Green Bay Packers.

John Elway: Arguably the greatest player in Broncos history, John Elway was the team’s quarterback from 1983 to 1998. He led the team to five Super Bowl appearances and two championships, and he retired as the NFL’s all-time leader in career wins by a starting quarterback. Elway was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004.

Little was known for his electrifying running style and his ability to make big plays on the field.

Steve Atwater: A hard-hitting safety who played for the Broncos from 1989 to 1998, Steve Atwater was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2020. He was a two-time All-Pro selection and an eight-time Pro Bowler, and he helped anchor the Broncos’ dominant defense during their Super Bowl-winning seasons.

Champ Bailey: One of the greatest cornerbacks in NFL history, Champ Bailey played for the Broncos from 2004 to 2013. He was a 12-time Pro Bowler and a three-time All-Pro selection, and he recorded 52 interceptions over his career. Bailey was a key part of the Broncos’ dominant defense during their run to the Super Bowl in 2013.
