Alum Tyrone Braxton’s organization, Environmental Learning for Kids (ELK) has also benefitted from the alumni in their organization’s efforts to cultivate a passion in science, leadership and service in a diverse community of learners.

The work that ELK does to reach out to students who have been traditionally overlooked and under-encouraged in science and science-related careers, including youth of color and females, has won awards and accolades in the Denver community and beyond. As alumni support ELK’s events and programs through their participation, the awareness of ELK’s work grows.
