The Porter-Billups Academy

The Porter-Billups Academy, a non-sports institute partnered by Lonnie Porter, Regis University’s men’s basketball coach and Chauncey Billups, formerly of the Denver Nuggets, helps students become leaders among their peers, see education as a path to success, graduate from high school and attend college. About 90 percent of the Academy students will be the first members of their families to attend college.

Working with Council member Tom Graham and his son Daniel, a Denver Bronco alum, the alumni have partnered with the Daniel Graham Foundation (DGf) for events including a free football camp and double Dutch jump rope clinic for at-risk youth. The DGf’s  mission to inspire families from challenge to triumph with an influence on youth, along with their quality education and health programs fostering a greater awareness of academic excellence, fitness and community service is aligned with the goals of the alumni and provides another avenue to build the Broncos support for their community.
